All Clothing is Handmade Mural for the Notch Sewing Studio in Irving Park Chicago IL
Created for Notch Sewing Studio in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood, All Clothing Is Handmade is a 14 x 9-foot Chicago mural celebrating sewing, illustration, textiles, and the creativity and craftsmanship behind handmade clothing. Painted directly on metal using spray paint, acrylic, and exterior latex paint, the mural combines bold color, graphic shapes, and playful illustrative imagery inspired by sewing tools, fabric, pattern, and making. The project brings together my experience as a Chicago mural artist and illustrator while reflecting Notch Sewing Studio’s creative community and the importance of the human hand in both art and clothing.
